Pool sessions
As summer draws to a close, we are starting the pool sessions again. The first session will be on Sunday September 16th, and they will carry on until Dec. 16th. Just as last year, they will be held at Abbey Pool, Whitehill Road, Cambridge, BUT they will be starting at the earlier time of 6 pm and finishing at 7 pm. You can arrive slightly earlier and get stuff ready for a prompt start, but please don't obstruct the pool-side.
For new members and beginners, these sessions are ideal to practice the capsize drill and support strokes introduced at one star or practice the more advanced supports and rescue techniques that the higher awards will need. More skilled paddlers can perfect their rolls and work up to hand rolling, or we could play a few games.
Sessions were very well supported last year, some sessions having twice as many paddlers as boats; we do try to get everybody a paddle but unfortunately this will mean reduced paddle time. Please bear with us if this happens occasionally.
There will be coaches around and someone "on duty" to point them out to you if you would like a few pointers. The sessions are open to all - members and non-members alike. The cost is £4 for adults, £3 for juniors.
