Our beginner courses are for adult new members and those aged 14 or above .  We offer Kids Start Award courses for 8-14 year olds.

Booking will be available through Webcollect (see below) approximately 2 weeks before the start date, or once sufficient coaches have volunteered. Exact timings will be confirmed at this time.  

Our beginner courses will teach you the skills you need to paddle forwards and steer a boat in a number of different directions as well as how to look out for yourself and your companions when out paddling. You will learn how to get in and out of a boat, how to carry and move a boat. You will get the opportunity to try out a number of different sorts of boats including kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs)

Courses take place on the beautiful River Cam and last approximately 8 hours.  We offer both weekend and evening courses throughout the Spring, Summer and early Autumn. 

Please ensure that you wear lightweight thermal clothing or wetsuits and lightweight shoes (preferably slip-on). All other equipment is provided.

All participants must feel confident in the water when fully clothed and wearing a buoyancy aid.  

Please note refunds are only given if we are able to resell your place via our system.  In such cases, you will be subjected to an administrative charge.

Adult £50 plus £60 membership subscription
U18/Student/concession £30 plus £35 membership subscription
   

Note: Access to the courses requires a valid club membership which can be obtained when you book the course. If you are booking for more than one family member, check if family membership is better value.
