These beginner courses are normally run in\u0026nbsp;April/May.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n \n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKids Club is open\nto children aged \u003cstrong\u003e8 and over\u003c/strong\u003e. Sessions\nfocus on learning paddling skills, water safety, games and having fun on the\nriver.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you\u0027re\ninterested in joining, keep an eye on our course listings or contact us for\ndetails of upcoming Kids Start courses.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eTeens Club (Ages 14–18)\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur Teens Club\nruns \u003cstrong\u003eevery other week on Tuesdays from April to\nOctober\u003c/strong\u003e and is designed for young people who want to develop their\npaddling skills, explore different disciplines and enjoy being on the water\nwith other teenagers.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eComplete Beginners\u003c/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe run dedicated a \u003cstrong\u003eTeen Beginners Course\u003c/strong\u003e\u0026nbsp;during May each year,\nproviding a structured introduction to paddlesport before joining regular Teens\nClub sessions. If you can\u0027t attend this one, let us know and we\u0027ll do our best\nto do a short intro during one of our regular teens sessions.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003ePaddlers with Previous Experience\u003c/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTeenagers who\nhave already paddled through Scouts, school, DofE, Sea Cadets or other clubs\nmay not need to wait for a beginners course. In many cases, they can join\nthrough a \u003cstrong\u003eclub induction\u003c/strong\u003e, allowing us to\nassess their experience and make sure they are comfortable with club procedures\nand safety expectations or join a teens session and we\u0027ll go through the induction.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have\nprevious paddling experience, please get in touch and we\u0027ll discuss the best\nroute into the club.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eFriends Welcome\u003c/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFriends of\nexisting Teens Club members are welcome to come along. Let us know in advance\nand we\u0027ll arrange an induction so they can join sessions safely and\nconfidently.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eClub Trips and Events\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJunior members\nare encouraged to take part in club activities beyond regular sessions. We run\na variety of trips throughout the year, ranging from local day paddles to\nweekend events and discipline-specific activities.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eParticipation\nrequirements vary depending on the type of trip, the paddler\u0027s experience and\nage, and the level of supervision available. There\u0027s also lots to do in the area for family\nmembers that don\u0027t paddle. It\u0027s normally one of the bank holiday weekends in\nMay.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eSafety and Supervision\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll junior\nactivities operate in accordance with the club\u0027s safeguarding procedures and\nJunior Paddling Policy. Junior paddlers must follow the policy\u0027s supervision\nrequirements, including buoyancy aid rules and age-appropriate supervision\narrangements.
